The much-awaited election of a flagbearer for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is currently under way at 277 polling centres across the country.
Over 200,000 delegates are expected to vote in the exercise which is expected to end at 3:00pm.

One of the front runners, Kennedy Agyapong who is said to have voted early, says he is ready to support who ever will emerge winner of the poll.
He made this known shortly after casting his ballot at the Pentecost Worship Center at Assin Fosu.
“I have psyched myself for whatever the outcome will be. Even if I lose, I will still support the winner to break the 8,” he assured.
Earlier on November 2, 2023, the four candidates were made to sign an undertaking not to leave the party if the outcome of the November 4 poll does not favour them.
They signed the memorandum of understanding at a meeting with the National Council of Elders in Accra.
“We were able to get all the four aspirants to sign an undertaking and in summary, they are to accept the primary results, and promote peace and cohesion,” the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah told reporters.
The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is highly tipped per pre-event polls to win the election, Chief Of Staff, President Akufo-Addo, and former Chairman Freddy Blay, also voted at the Party’s headquarters in Accra.
