MPs busing and camping delegates

The Communication Team for Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region says they are not happy about some happenings ahead of the electoral process leading to the primaries scheduled to be held on November 4, 2023.

According to the Kennedy Agyapong’s Campaign team, after visiting all the 275 Constituencies across the country, they realized that some MPs in the party have decided to bus every delegate to their various polling stations.

Speaking to the press, the Deputy Communication Director of Team Ken Mr Ohemeng Ian Moore stated clearly that, this decision by the MPs is against the rules of the election hence they are not going to kick against such moves

They also stated that though the Ashanti Regional Security Council chaired by the Regional Minister brought a directive to delegates that they should leave the polling station after casting their votes, they insist that delegates can wait as long as the wish to.

They argued that, even at the general elections, the constitution allows people to wait at their various polling stations so telling delegates to leave is unacceptable.

While accusing some Members of Parliament in the party saying they want to temper with the register and bring in people to vote for delegates who are dead and others who have travelled outside the country, they suspect some other shady moves

“We want to tell them that we have audited, and we know every delegate who is dead and those who are not in the country, and we have their names, pictures and all the details with us”, Mr Ohemeng Ian Moore said.

They therefore called on the IGP to bring more security men to Ashanti Region during Saturday’s polls.

The NPP will on November 4, 2023, go to the polls to elect a flagbearer. The political party is hoping to elect a leader who will help them win the 2024 elections and make history.

Over 200, 000 delegates of the party will take part in the presidential primary election of the party on Saturday, November 4, 2023.
