Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli will miss seven months of action following his suspension by the Italian Football Association.
The midfielder has been banned for seven months after he was found guilty of breaching betting rules.
After admitting to the breaches, Fagioli was given a 12-month ban, with five months suspended, and fined 12,500 euros (£10,850).
The 22-year-old, per the ruling, will have to go through therapy to help deal with his betting addiction before being reintegrated into first team football.
A statement from the FIGC says Fagioli violated its anti-betting regulations, European governing body Uefa and world ruling body Fifa.
Fagioli is said to have used multiple identities to place bets on illegal websites.
Fagioli’s prosecution is related to national teammates Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo, who were sacked from Italy’s training camp on 12 October after being told they were involved in an investigation by Italian prosecutors.
