Only a myopic thinker will want to promote tourism with Funerals and Sobolo

Flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has said that Ghana’s Tourism Minister is myopic in his thinking.

He says Ghana needs people who think big and can generate income for the country.

Kennedy Agyapong’s comments comes on the back of the Minister’s initiative to promote funeral tourism in Ghana.

“Minister says he will use funerals and sobolo to promote tourism. We don’t need myopic thinkers. The way Ghana is, we need men with big brains. He is a myopic thinker. How can you tell us that you’ll use funerals and buses and they will sell sobolo and the people were clapping?”

Background

Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Dr Mohammed Ibrahim Awal has reiterated the government’s commitment to promoting funeral tourism.

He hints that the government intends to bus people to funerals, especially to places where there are other tourist attractions, in order for people to take advantage of the funerals to visit these places.

“We will find funerals at places where there are tourist attractions. When they finish the funeral, the people will be served local dishes and drinks including sobolo. So that when we finish, we will bus them to these tourist attractions.
